.Solar Panels Being Installed on Our Office
Here’s a picture of solar panels going to the roof of our office building, 555 De Haro St., for installation.

There’s a story behind this. Six months ago our friend Tom Price, head of the not-for-profit Black Rock Solar that installs a lot of panels in Nevada sent word around that until the end of 2008 San Francisco was adding extra rebates on solar installation, on top of other state and federal rebates, meant that within the two years you could recoup the installation costs. My partner, Steven Reading, passed this news along to our landlord, and Tom was able to connect him with local installers.
And that’s why solar panels are going to be power much of the power at 555 De Haro St.
Tom recently told me that the rebates were extended beyond this year. He’s very passionate about connecting people with solar providers so contact him at their site for local help.
Here’s a picture of Tom at their recent array installation for the University of Reno.

Very cool – bet the dogs will like it. Can you talk about what it will save energy-wise and what that savings equals in monthly dollars?
Dogster is one of a bunch of outfits in the same building, so it’s a little tough to figure out. So while we don’t know in exact dollars how much it will save, we do know the building owner was so impressed with the numbers that he’s doing this building and his own house! If someone is interested in figuring out what they’ll save at their house/business, drop me a line and we’ll pencil it out.
thanks tom woof
