.Notes and Slides from SXSW Interactive Panel
Today I moderated a panel at the SXSW Interactive Festival on turning internet projects into revenue generating businesses. I invited Tara Hunt of Citizen Agency, Gabe Rivera of Techmeme, Shanalyn Victor of Pixelgirl Shop, and Ryan Carson of Carson Systems to join me.
Jeremiah Owyang of PodTech.net did a great job liveblogging. As did Deluxe Digital Media, Adam Darowski and Rex Hammock. You should check’em out.

We spoke to a packed room, answered a slew of questions and received a healthly applause when our time was up.

I have posted the presentation slides under a CC license. You can download them here. Note, the slides we’re used as an intro to show where and how internet projects are currently being monetized.

Ted, you ran one kickass panel. Was my first SXSW and it was one of my most anticipated panels (big fans of Tara & Ryan as well). It totally lived up to my expectations.
Word among SXSW veterans is that it was one of the best SXSW panels they had ever seen.
Yes, I must concur. Excellent panel. I especially liked your rebuff of the questioner who used the word “monetization”.
[...] SXSW Apple Sightings March 10th, 2007 by Leslie Poston There is little thing called the SXSW Interactive Festival going on right now in Texas. This is geek heaven on Earth right now, with a Who’s Who of Interactive technology and media names, music and film and more. Everyone is there, from vlogging superstar Ze Frank (known Apple enthusiast) to music’s own Pete Townsend, film’s Eli Roth and everyone in between. While the panels are in session, there are plenty of laptops and gadgets around. In fact, during at least one of the Interactive panels there was a multiple Apple sighting! Check these photos of the Mac attack out: [...]
Great panel, Ted. I love how you mentioned the Mighty G.
I hope someone makes a turnkey business like Gimme Some Candy. I’m all over that idea but wish there was a service I could pay, upload my images, then bingo instant candy for my site.
