.Dogster Homepage from Feb 2004
In preparation for our presentation Saturday on ‘The Dogster Story’ at the sold-out CommunityNext Conference on ‘The Dogster Story’ I dug up a homepage screen shot from exactly 3 years ago.
When Dogster first launched I described it as a post-and-share site. People uploaded their dog photo and stories and everyone else got to enjoy them. The only ’social’ features were the ability to have thumbnails of your dog pals pages on yours. Private messaging, forums, classifieds, gift messaging, diaries, videos, groups, IM all came later, each added when there was assurity they were truly wanted and worth the effort to build.
But first it was just about posting dog photos and stories and connecting with your pals. What a joy it’s turned into so much more.

I am looking forward to your speech!
[...] It’s taken /a lot/ of work to get it to this point and maintaining the delicate balance requires constant attentions. When I think back to our first homepage, and think forward the upcoming homepage and UI redesign, I can’t help but thinking “you’ve come a long way little doggie.” [...]
Wow look how Dogster has grown up! We’re so glad!
Do not see that much difference in the UI design - it is still fairly poor! Though the site has a lot of good features
cheers
