Helpful Read for Anyone Renting Servers

Picture 3.png

Good and respected friend Barry, IT lead for Wordpress and LaughingSquid is writing about selecting a server facility to meet Wordpress.com’s need of about 40 new servers.

Many of their requirements are what we see in our own immediate future, and their detailed needs show a deep understanding of how one can cost-effectively maximize off-the-shelf servers in today’s markets.

If any of this is vaguely interest to you, give it a read.

I too would like to second his position that Joyent is doing very interesting things that I had recently thought of as not possible at such competitive pricing.

I’ve been using TextDrive (now with Joyent) for a while now for my big projects. They have an excellent setup and get VERY nerdy so it’s perfect if you want to do everything yourself. And they have a bunch of sister packages like Bingo, Strongspace and Joyent that are very nice. The only big issue is their stats package, you have to install it yourself! I’m using Google Analytics instead.
