.Wag Pet Hotels
Ok, this is my first foray into blogging, but I had to tell you about our new partner….Wag Pet Hotels. Yup, its a first class hotel for your dog or cat and unless I saw it with my own eyes I would never have believed it. Their first location opened in Sacramento and is in a 35,000 sq. ft. facility. From the circular drive-up doggy drop-off to the immaculate doggy pool and spa, it’s the most amazing facility. My memories of a pet kennel are not fond. They were always part of a veterinary clinic, smelled terrible and your pet was in a small cage next to a sick animal. Wag Pet Hotel is just the opposite. I have attached some photos below so you can see for yourself. Their next location is opening in the Fall of ‘06 in San Francisco. You should also check out their site at www.waghotels.com.

I read your review, yes wag looks great, I boarded my 2 rat terriers, I had copiesof all thier medical history, the one pet had a 3 year rabies vaccination, and it was his second year, they refused to take the breeders verification, and the serial number of the vacine. so I was charged an extra 35 dollars a day nor was he allowed out of his crate. The other dog was and played..She came home with Kennel cough, and guess what all 3 dogs had it I called wag, to let them know and they said they would reclean the play areas…they didn’t offer anything…so for boarding for 2 days, $300. for vets bill $200. it was a very expensive weekend. Maybe I would go back if they guranteed thier service.
Although a little expensive, I cannot give enough praise to Wag Hotel in Sacramento. Our cavalier actually looks forward to his stay. The two one-hour play sessions are great for promoting social skills. All the staff, especially Patty, are fantastic.
That’s strange how a boarding facility would only accept “undervaccinated” pets at an increased rate. You’d think that for the sake of the dogs’ health (yours and the other boarding dogs), it would be an all-or-nothing policy. I don’t know. Given the choice I’d rather have an in-home pet-sitter, especially if I had two or more dogs.
Bordatella sucks… (Your dogs were current on bordatella vaccines, yeah?)
Though maybe it’s because generally when a puppy receives his initial rabies vaccine, it’s supposed to be a one-year first, and then when he comes in the next year, after that a 3-year one is OK? I thought that was general practice, but then again I’m not a vet!
