Dogster is not in the Fox Interactive House

At the Under the Radar Web 2.0 event last week in an interview with TechCrunch’s Mike Arrington, Fox Interactive President Ross Levinsohn announced that Fox had purchased one of the companies in the room. It was pretty big news for the roomful of 32 presenting companies, VC’s and press. During the cocktails afterward it seemed like everyone had a guess what company it was… Eurekster? Riya? Wink? Meetro? A few reports (like CNET’s Dan Farber) mentioned Dogster as one of the potential companies Fox had acquired.

Well, after a weekend of people asking Ted, Steven and I whether or not this is true, I can honestly say it is not. Dogster is profitable and growing. Our focus is entirely on continuing to build great community and serving the pet lover’s market. So, I am sorry to disappoint those of you who had your money on Dogster, but it’s not us.

Well said John. Though I have to say it was quite flattering to hear so many consider Dogster in this light.
